Use the tool to record accurate transaction details.

FreeReceipt formats receipts from the details you enter. A receipt is a record you create. It does not prove that a payment took place.

Service scope

FreeReceipt is a free online tool for creating receipts from information you enter, with downloadable Word and Excel templates and guides. It needs no account and takes no payment. It is meant for genuine personal and business record keeping.

Accurate transaction records

You are responsible for entering accurate, complete and truthful information. A receipt made here is a record you create; it does not prove that a payment, purchase or other transaction took place.

User-provided content

You are responsible for everything you enter, including names, amounts, dates and logos. Do not enter false, misleading or unlawful content, and do not use the service to imitate real merchants, businesses or people, or to create documents meant to deceive.

Intellectual property

Receipts you create are yours. You may print, save and share them for any lawful purpose, without credit to FreeReceipt.

You may download, edit and use the Word and Excel templates for your own personal or business records, as often as you like. Please do not sell or redistribute the template files themselves, alone or as part of another product.

The site itself, including its design, text, illustrations and code, belongs to the operator of FreeReceipt. Do not copy it or present it as your own. The fonts used in receipts are open-source and keep their own licences.

Service limits

The service may change or be unavailable at times. Drafts are kept only in your browser, so download any receipt you need to keep. Check every receipt before you use it.

FreeReceipt is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We work to keep calculations and files correct, but we do not promise that the service is free of errors or that a receipt meets the tax, accounting or legal rules that apply to you. If you need that certainty, ask a qualified adviser.

As far as the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss or damage that comes from using the service or from relying on a receipt made with it, including lost drafts, wrong amounts and the way a receipt is used. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
