Create and edit
Make changes, add items and change the layout of your receipt.
Add your business and receipt details
Open the Receipt tab in the editor and fill in your business name and address, the receipt number, the date and the customer. The preview updates as you type, so you can check the result before you download.
Add and edit items
Choose Add item, then enter a description, quantity and unit price. Line amounts and totals are worked out for you. Use the bin icon to remove a line; Undo brings it back. Tax, discount and tip are in Totals & payment.
Change the layout
Choose a template in the Design tab, for example Simple, Restaurant or Rent. Your business details, items and amounts are kept. To add, remove or reorder parts of the receipt, use the Sections tab. Browse all receipt templates.
Local drafts
How drafts work and where they are saved.
Where your draft is saved
Your draft is saved automatically in this browser on this device as you type. It is not uploaded to this site, and it is not available in other browsers or on other devices. There are no accounts. The privacy page has the details.
Clear or replace a draft
In the editor toolbar, open Reset. New blank receipt clears your details, Replace with sample brings back the example, and Clear saved data removes saved drafts and logos from this device. Clear saved data asks first and cannot be undone. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes them.
One draft per page
Each receipt maker page keeps its own draft: the restaurant, rent, cash and thermal pages each remember one receipt, and the home page and the editor share one. There is no list of saved receipts, so download a receipt before you start a new one on the same page.
Logos and text
Add a logo, change fonts and paper, and use other currencies.
Add a logo
In Business details, choose Upload logo and pick a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG file up to 5 MB and 4096 × 4096 pixels. The logo is kept in this browser with your draft. If it is refused or looks wrong, see Large logo in Troubleshooting.
Change fonts and paper
Choose the font, paper style and paper width in the Receipt style panel at the top of the Receipt tab. There are 10 receipt fonts.A message section, such as a thank-you note, has its own font: the receipt font, any other receipt font, or a handwritten, script, marker or bold display style. It can also be small, normal, large or extra large, bold, italic or in capitals, with a box or a dark highlight band. Change it under Additional sections in the Receipt tab, or in the Sections tab.
Currency, symbols and long text
Choose the currency in Receipt style. Changing it changes the symbol only; amounts are not converted. Accents, apostrophes and long names are kept. Emoji use your device’s emoji font and may look different in a downloaded file.
Download formats
PDF, PNG and JPEG, or an editable template file.
PDF
Choose PDF in the format list next to Download, then select Download. The page is exactly as wide as your receipt (58 mm, 80 mm or your custom width). The PDF holds an image of the receipt, so its text cannot be selected.
PNG and JPEG
PNG gives a sharp image with a transparent torn edge; JPEG has a white background. Pick the format before you select Download. In Safari, bold text in downloaded images and PDFs may appear in regular weight.
Word, Excel and Google Sheets
For a file you can keep editing elsewhere, use the Word templates, the Excel template or the Google Sheets import. The site cannot turn an existing PDF into an editable receipt.
Mobile files
Find and open your files on a phone or tablet.
Find a downloaded file
Files go to your browser’s download location. On iPhone and iPad this is usually the Downloads folder in the Files app; on Android, the Files or Downloads app. The file name is the document name plus the receipt date, for example my-receipt-2026-10-25.pdf.
Edit on a small screen
On a phone the editor shows one view at a time: use the Edit and Preview buttons to switch. The bar at the bottom shows the total and a Preview button. Download and Print are in the toolbar.
Printing
Get the best results when you print your receipt.
Print only the receipt
Select Print in the editor toolbar; Ctrl+P works too. Only the receipt prints, without the page around it. Check the preview in the print window before you print.
Choose a receipt width
Choose 58 mm, 80 mm or Custom (40–210 mm) under Receipt style before you print or download. For roll printers, see the thermal receipt maker.
Fix size and margins
If the receipt prints too small, too large or cut off, set the scale to 100% and check the margins. The steps are under Browser print scaling.
Troubleshooting
Solutions to common problems.
Missing download
If your receipt does not download, try these steps:
- Fix what the editor asks for . Download and Print stay blocked while the receipt has errors. A message says how many things to fix and takes you to the first one.
- Check your downloads . Look in your Downloads folder or for a download prompt in the browser.
- Confirm the format . Make sure the format list shows the format you want, then select Download again.
Storage unavailable
If the editor says "Not saved: this browser blocks storage" or "Not saved: storage is full", try these steps:
- Leave private browsing . Private or incognito windows can block saved drafts or remove them when you close the window.
- Allow site data . Check that your browser allows site data for this site and that storage is not full.
- Download a copy . Save the receipt as a PDF, PNG or JPEG so you keep a copy even if the draft is not saved.
Large logo
If your logo will not upload or looks wrong, try these steps:
- Use a smaller image . Keep the file under 5 MB and 4096 × 4096 pixels. A small, simple image looks best.
- Check the file type . Use a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG file.
- Remove it and add it again . Choose Remove logo in Business details, then upload the file again.
Browser print scaling
If the printed receipt is too small, too large or cut off, try these steps:
- Set the scale to 100% . In the print window, choose Actual size or 100% instead of Fit to page.
- Check the margins . Set the margins to None or Default, and turn off headers and footers.
- Match the paper size . Choose the paper size or roll width that matches your receipt, then print again.
